Ben Morgan has said that England will be hoping to build momentum after beating Ireland in their final Rugby World Cup warm-up match at the weekend.
Jonny May and Anthony Watson were among the tries as Stuart Lancaster's side secured a 21-13 victory over the reigning Six Nations champions at Twickenham.
The Gloucester Rugby number eight told the England Rugby website: "That made it a great test for our squad going into the World Cup. It's great to get that win and hopefully carry some momentum into that first game.
"We felt in control. We backed our defence. That was something we obviously had to work on from the last game. We said we were going to put that right and I think we did that.
"We were able to put on some pressure with our line-speed and put some big hits in out there too."
England open their campaign at Twickenham against Fiji next Friday.
