Centre Sam Burgess will reportedly keep his place in England's preliminary Rugby World Cup squad as Stuart Lancaster prepares to cut nine players at the end of next week.
The 26-year-old, who moved across to the sport from rugby league last year, is yet to make his international debut, but he will be given a further chance to show why he should be included in the final squad.
The Daily Mail claims that Burgess will compete with Henry Slade and Luther Burrell for two of the four available spots, as Brad Barritt and Jonathan Joseph are guaranteed to be selected.
This would mean that Billy Twelvetrees and Kyle Eastmond will be cut from the list.
Burgess has impressed in training camp in America and will be given a chance to show what he can do in a warm-up against France next month.
The final 31-man squad will be announced on August 31.
