Rugby Football Union professional rugby director Rob Andrew says that England can win the Rugby World Cup.

Rugby Football Union professional rugby director Rob Andrew has said that he believes England can win the World Cup.

The former England fly-half had previously been reported as saying that he did not think England could win but he has said that his comments were taken out of context.

"What I was asked was 'do I think this England team is peaking now?' I don't. I think it's a young England side. If you look at the average age and the average caps in the side, these guys are going to be around for a long time," Andrew told Sky Sports News.

"New Zealand are the favourites – a very experienced side – so someone will have to knock them over, and that's happened before in World Cups. But there's probably not a lot to choose in the other six top-ranked sides – Australia, South Africa, England, Wales, Ireland and France."
