Jonny Wilkinson has insisted that he has not joined England as a kicking coach ahead of the Rugby World Cup.
The former England fly-half did hint that he would "love" to help his country but stressed that reports that he has already joined the England set-up are wide of the mark.
"I'm not involved in any way - unfortunately it's something that has been misreported," Wilkinson told Sky Sports News.
"I love the England set-up and I love the boys, but it's not my job. My job is to help whoever and however I possibly can and obviously my allegiance lies with my country and also those guys because they're great guys. So I'd love to, but I'm not coaching there, I'm not involved in any way."
The 35-year-old made 91 appearances for England, scoring 1,179 points including the final drop-goal in the victorious 2003 World Cup campaign.
