Andy Farrell has said that Tom Croft's return to the England setup will have a calming influence on some of the younger players in the team.
Croft, who recently returned to action following a serious neck injury, has been included in Stuart Lancaster's squad for the Six Nations match against Italy on Sunday.
England coach Farrell believes that Croft's inclusion is a welcome addition to the squad.
"It's wonderful to have him back," he told talkSPORT. "It's good to see anyone come back from a serious injury and a long period out.
"Tom's one of our most experienced players by a good way and it's great to get that know-how back.
"He'll be a calming influence over some of the younger lads because he's been there and done it. He's a good bloke to have around."
Croft has won 36 caps for England.
