England prop Joe Marler has backed the team to respond positively to their defeat against France when they face Scotland in the Six Nations this Saturday.
Stuart Lancaster's side saw their campaign get off to a losing start in Paris last weekend as a late try saw them beaten 26-24.
However, Marler is confident that England can earn their first win of the tournament at Murrayfield this weekend.
"We showed a lot of character coming back from that poor start we had [against France], and there's a lot of character in this team to come back next week and put things right against Scotland," he told Sky Sports News.
"We know it won't be easy, conditions probably won't be good - there's a lot of chat about the pitch from the media saying it's not very good, stuff like that.
"But, you know, [the conditions are] both the same for both teams and they've got some quality players in their team so it'll be a tough day."
England head to Murrayfield with four wins from their last four games against the Scots.
