Full-back Mike Brown has praised France's performance during England's 55-35 Six Nations victory.
Brown also criticised the performances of "other countries" after Scotland and Italy were defeated by Ireland and Wales respectively.
Ireland won the Championship by beating Scotland 40-10 to leave England needing a 26-point victory over the French after Wales thrashed Italy 61-20 in the first match of the day.
"Massive credit to the French for the way they fronted up for this game and for the way they played, compared to a few other countries," Brown told Sky Sports News.
"Fair play to France, they played a game. I don't need to saying anything else. Everyone knows it.
"It was fast paced, end to end. We played good rugby, they played good rugby. France turned up and made a game of it. They could have easily folded, so it was great to see that from them, from a spectator point of view."
The 29-year-old has made 39 appearances for England.
