France captain Thierry Dusautoir has announced his retirement from international rugby, ending his nine-year Test career.
The 34-year-old made his debut for Les Bleus in 2006 against Romania, notching a try in the match.
Dusautoir was made captain of his side before the 2011 World Cup where he played an integral role in leading them to the final in which they were beaten by New Zealand.
The flanker made 80 Test appearances for his country, and his final match came in the quarter-finals of the 2015 World Cup when his side were decimated by the All Blacks at the Millennium Stadium.
Dusautoir admitted that he discussed his future with new head coach Guy Noves before making his decision to end his Test career.
"I saw [Noves] this morning," Dusautoir told L'Equipe. "We arrived at the same conclusions. That is why I am convinced that my choice is dictated by reason.
"If I had tried to continue, forcing it, I would have shown more vanity than anything else. I believe that this is the wisest decision."
Dusautoir will continue his club career with Toulouse, who he has played for since 2006.
