London Welsh head coach Lyn Jones has said that it "would be great" if his side could sign the free agent Gavin Henson.
Henson worked under Jones for five years when the pair were contracted to Ospreys in the mid-2000s, but the Welsh player has been surrounded by controversy in recent years.
However, talking to talkSPORT, Jones said he would be keen to offer Henson a lifeline, saying: "When we have time we will give Gavin a ring and I'm sure he will receptive for a discussion.
"Once upon a time he was a very good player. He has regressed for several reasons and if we could do a deal, if he was still available, if he hasn't already signed to go to France, it would be great. You never know."
Henson was dismissed by Cardiff Blues in April this year.
