South Africa score four second-half tries against a shellshocked Ireland to record a series-levelling 32-26 victory in Johannesburg on Saturday.

South Africa have drawn level in their three-match Test series against Ireland by scoring four second-half tries in a 32-26 victory over their Northern Hemisphere opponents in Johannesburg.

Joe Schmidt's side, who prevailed against the Springboks in Cape Town last weekend, led their opponents 19-3 at the break with the boot of Paddy Jackson punishing South Africa's indiscipline.

Elton Jantjies had kicked the Boks into an early lead but it was the Irish fly-half who weighed in with a number of penalties before Devon Toner's try took the visitors further out of reach on the 34-minute mark.

South Africa, who were booed as they trudged off the field at the break, began the second half with more purpose as Ruan Combrinck bulldozed over in the corner, but Ireland hit back immediately with a try from Jamie Heaslip.

The tourists' joy, however, was short-lived as the Boks responded with further scores from Warren Whiteley, Pieter-Stef du Toit and Damian de Allende, before a Jantjies penalty added gloss to the scoreline.
