A calf injury has ended Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery's participation in this year's World Cup.
The 32-year-old broke down in training with the problem as Ireland prepared for Saturday's match against Australia.
Flannery underwent a scan earlier today and the damage has been deemed too severe to allow the Munster player to play any further part in the competition.
The 41-capped Flannery has had issues with his calves over the past two years and needed surgery in 2010 to save his career.
