Ireland fly-half Ian Madigan has said that he hopes his display against Scotland will help force his way into their final World Cup squad.
The 26-year-old is widely considered to be Ireland's third-choice fly-half behind Johnny Sexton and Paddy Jackson, but he helped set up four tries as Ireland won 28-22.
He is quoted as saying by The Guardian: "It was a very important part against Scotland, showing that I could run the game. People love using the phrase 'game management' and I've been working really hard on that with Joe [Schmidt].
"One of my main roles as an out-half is to bring other players into the game and I did my best to do that and, in fairness to the guys around me, they made it very easy for me."
Madigan has 20 Ireland caps.
