Ireland prop Jack McGrath: 'Romania not at disadvantage due to fixture list'

Ireland prop Jack McGrath does not feel that Romania have been put at a disadvantage due their Pool D fixture list, as Lynn Howells' team face two games in four days.

Ireland prop Jack McGrath has stated that he does not believe Romania are disadvantaged due to their Rugby World Cup fixture list.

Lynn Howells's outfit play France at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday before taking on Joe Schmidt's Ireland at Wembley four days later.

"That's just the way the rankings and the seedings have gone and there's not a whole lot we can do about that," McGrath told reporters.

"All we can do is give them the respect they deserve, turn up and then give them a good game. It's just the way the chips fell and there's not a lot we can do about it.

"Japan just beat South Africa, so I wouldn't say that's getting stung. We'll see tomorrow how they get on (against Scotland). You only get stung if you lose the game. So it's a long way to go in the World Cup."

Ireland sit on top of Pool D following a bonus-point victory over Canada, while Romania's first outing in the tournament is against France on Wednesday.
