Paul O'Connell ready for "incredibly difficult" Wales test

Paul O'Connell turns his attention towards Ireland's crunch clash against Wales in two weeks' time by admitting that his side face an almighty challenge to claim victory.

Ireland captain Paul O'Connell is expecting his side to face an "incredibly difficult" challenge when they take on Wales in Cardiff later this month.

Josef Schmidt's men prevailed 19-9 against England at the Aviva Stadium earlier today to keep their Grand Slam hopes right on track with two games left to go in this year's Six Nations championship.

Next up for Ireland is a tricky-looking trip to face a Wales side who have recovered from their opening-game defeat against England to remain in contention for the famous trophy.

"It's probably going to be our hardest day of the championship, away from home is obviously harder," O'Connell told BBC Sport. "They've put themselves in with a chance with a big win over in Paris so it's going to be incredibly difficult."

Ireland have now won each of their last 10 games.
