Italy centre Luca Morisi has been ruled out of the upcoming Rugby World Cup due to a knee injury.
The 24-year-old sustained a torn ligament in his right knee during Saturday's warm-up match against Wales, which also saw Welsh duo Rhys Webb and Leigh Halfpenny pick up tournament-ending injuries.
The Italians are still sweating on the fitness of Morisi's fellow centre Gonzalo Garcia, who injured his ankle at the Millennium Stadium, although the 31-year-old is expected to stay with the squad during his rehabilitation.
Captain Sergio Parisse is another who picked up a problem during Saturday's damaging match, needing fluid to be drained from his left leg, but he is expected to passed fit for the tournament.
Italy begin their campaign against France at Twickenham on September 19 before also facing Canada, Ireland and Romania in Pool D.
