Ireland full-back Rob Kearney has admitted that the Six Nations champions found it tough going as they started the defence of their crown with a victory over Italy.
The Irish eventually won 26-3, but Joe Schmidt's side struggled to find their rhythm as they laboured against the Azzurri.
However, Kearney believes that other teams can expect to be frustrated when they meet Italy.
He told BBC Sport: "It was a slog. I don't know if it was that frustrating, any time you come to Rome that's what you're expecting.
"It was a bit of a shock for us losing Sean O'Brien right before kick-off, but we prepared really well so it didn't move us from our groove too much."
Ireland now face a crunch match against fellow championship contenders France next weekend.
