New Zealand fly-half Stephen Donald's move to Bath is under threat due to problems concerning his work permit.
The 27-year-old was hoping to complete a move from Super 15 club Chiefs to the Rec this summer.
Doubts have been cast over the transfer, however, after the All Blacks' official website said Donald has no ancestral links to the UK and has not featured for the national side for 18 months.
It is believed that Bath will appeal against the decision after agreeing to sign the player on a two-and-a-half-year deal in June.
