Cardiff Blues chairman Peter Thomas has said that veteran flanker Martyn Williams will not be offered a new contract at the end of the season.
Thomas said that the former Wales and Lions international is likely to retire when his current contract runs out this summer.
"There are a number of players who will be out of contract and their contracts won't be renewed," Thomas told BBC Radio Wales.
"There will be a lot of players leaving but a lot of those players will have come to the end of their playing careers.
"The one classic example, and I'm sure he won't mind me saying so, is Martyn Williams."
Williams has won 99 caps for Wales and has made 137 appearances for the Blues since joining in 2003.
