Exter Chiefs came out on top of a close match with Scarlets in the Heineken Cup this afternoon.
Haydn Thomas put the Chiefs ahead with an early try. Three subsequent Gareth Steenson penalties, and two from Rhys Priestland saw Exeter lead 16-6 after a scrappy first half.
Scarlets were handed a chance to get back in the game when Ben Moon was shown a yellow card in the 64th minute.
The home side took quickly took advantage, forcing a penalty try.
Exeter brought on fresh legs to maintain their lead, and were able to prevent Scarlets from scoring again.
The win moves the Chiefs above Scarlets in pool 5, leaving the Welsh side without a win in the campaign.
