Duncan Hodge calls for 'complete' Scotland performance against Ireland

Scotland backs coach Duncan Hodge wants to see his players "perform for 80 minutes" when they host Ireland on the final day of this year's Six Nations.

Scotland backs coach Duncan Hodge has called on the team to "perform for 80 minutes" and not let themselves down in tomorrow's Test against Ireland on the final day of this year's Six Nations.

Hosts Scotland have lost all four games in this year's tournament and defeat tomorrow will see them pick up the wooden spoon for being winless throughout.

Asked what the Scots needed to do better tomorrow, Hodge told reporters: "We need to perform for 80 minutes, that's the biggest thing. It's all very well playing well in patches and putting teams under pressure, but winning Test matches is about playing for 80 minutes.

"Along the way there's been some skill errors and some execution errors, but there's been some mental errors as well.

"You're never going to get the perfect performance, you know very rarely does that happen or even close to it, but it's trying to get a sustained level of performance for bigger periods of the game."

Scotland's opponents Ireland are one of four sides who stand a chance of claiming the title in tomorrow's staggered finale. They are on six points with Wales and England, while France, on four points, also have an outside chance of stealing the crown.
