Ben Foden looking to avenge Ulster defeat

Northampton Saints full-back Ben Foden issues a rallying call to his side ahead of their Heineken Cup clash with unbeaten Ulster.

Northampton Saints full-back Ben Foden has called upon his teammates to avenge their Heineken Cup defeat to Ulster in tomorrow's return fixture.

Northampton fell to a 25-6 defeat at the hands of last season's runners-up a week ago, putting them third in Pool Four and in danger of being eliminated.

However, Foden believes that their underdog status could help them pull off a shock and inflict Ulster's first home defeat in Europe since 2008.

"Losing to Ulster stung so much because we were at home and conceded four tries. The performance let us down, as individuals and as a team. There is no finger-pointing, we sat down and took the blame as a team, and we know we have to make things better," said Foden.

"It is a big ask to go to Ravenhill and beat an undefeated side but for us it is about pride and getting back on track. A lot of people will write us off, which is probably a good thing, but we are at our most dangerous when teams take us for granted. We will be looking to put in a big performance at Ravenhill.

"We did not play as well as Ulster as a team and obviously we will bridge that gap if we perform to our potential."

Ulster are currently on a 13-match winning streak and are among the favourites to claim the Heineken Cup title this season.
