USA captain Chris Wyles has admitted that his side are hoping to make their supporters proud at this year's Rugby World Cup.
The Eagles have qualified for the tournament for the seventh time in their history, but have never progressed from the pool stage of the competition.
The full-back, who is competing at his third tournament, told reporters: "The history of this tournament is a great one and we must enjoy it. We have to be ready for whatever comes our way and to compete at our best every time.
"We must wear the USA jersey with pride and honour and do our home fans proud. We have a responsibility to them and to the thousands of children who watch us across the world."
The United States open their campaign against Samoa in Brighton on Sunday.
