Alun Wyn Jones to win 100th cap for Wales against New Zealand

Alun Wyn Jones will win his 100th cap for Wales during the first Test of their summer tour of New Zealand, while captain Sam Warburton also returns from injury.

Alun Wyn Jones will make his 100th appearance for his country when they take on New Zealand in the first Test of their summer tour at Eden Park on Saturday.

Jones becomes just the fifth player to reach the milestone for Wales, following in the footsteps of Gethin Jenkins, Stephen Jones, Gareth Thomas and Martyn Williams.

He will partner Bradley Davies in the second-row, while elsewhere in the pack Sam Warburton returns from a shoulder injury to captain the team.

Centre Jonathan Davies also returns to the side alongside Jamie Roberts, while uncapped flanker Ellis Jenkins is named amongst the substitutes.

"We have made five changes since our last hit-out, and there is an opportunity for a number of players," head coach Warren Gatland told reporters.

"It's an opportunity for a couple of boys to start, and we are bringing in experience with Gethin, Ken and Bradley. In the midfield it's nice to have that experienced combination back, and the players who move to the bench will still have an impact on game-day.

"We are under no illusions how tough the Test series will be against the back-to-back world champions, but the players are also aware how important this tour is. We've had a great welcome down here in New Zealand. The New Zealand public have again made us feel very welcome, and there is a good feel to the Test series."

Wales have not beaten New Zealand for 63 years and have never overcome the All Blacks in their own backyard.

Wales team to face New Zealand: L Williams (Scarlets), G North (Northampton), J Davies (Clermont), J Roberts (Harlequins), H Amos (Newport Gwent Dragons), D Biggar (Ospreys), R Webb (Ospreys), G Jenkins (Cardiff), K Owens (Scarlets), S Lee (Scarlets), B Davies (Wasps), A Wyn Jones (Ospreys), R Moriarty (Gloucester), S Warburton (Cardiff), T Faletau (Newport Gwent Dragons)
