Bradley Davies says that his Wales team dug in and adapted well to squeeze past Japan today.

Wales captain Bradley Davies has said that his side adapted well in the second half of their victory against Japan today.

A youthful Welsh side went in 11-6 down at the break but managed to turn it around in the second to win 22-18 in Osaka.

"I thought we adapted very well, obviously our gameplan first half didn't quite work," said Davies.

"But we changed things second half and we got the result."

Davies added that the team were continuing getting to know each other as they look to improve for the second match in Tokyo next Saturday, June 15.

"You can see the conditions, there's not many games we play in 30 degrees back home so the boys dug in well," he said.

"We've learned a lot about ourselves today, we were a bit of an unknown bunch going into the game, but now we know each other very well and hopefully we can kick-on for next week."

The majority of the Welsh side are on the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia.
