Former Wales fly-half Jonathan Davies has admitted that the team played 'poorly' during their defeat to Ireland in Cardiff.
Warren Gatland's side lost 35-21 on Saturday in the first of two Rugby World Cup warm-up matches against the Irish.
With a number of fringe and uncapped players given the chance to impress at the Millennium Stadium, Davies believes that many of them missed the opportunity.
"For the Ireland boys this performance puts pressure on the first-choice players," he told BBC Sport. "We all know the Wales first-choice team but they have not put them under any pressure, they have been poor today."
Wales make the trip to Dublin for the return fixture on August 29.
