John Pullin has said that he would like to see Wales captain Sam Warburton named captain for the British and Irish Lions' tour of Australia later this year.
The Lions are due to play 10 fixtures during the series in June and July, including three against Australia.
The former England captain, who toured with the Lions in 1971, told BBC Radio Wales: "I think I would plump for [Warburton] as captain, he's a good player no doubt about that.
"He did lead Wales very well last year, what's happened to him since I don't know but you can't blame one person.
"If you're not playing well in [the Six Nations], no matter who you are, then you shouldn't go on a Lions tour.
Warburton captained Wales to a Grand Slam win in the Six Nations last year, but the country were without a win in the Autumn Internationals.
