Jimmy White has been handed a tie with Ryan Day on his return to the UK Championship.

Earlier this week, the 60-year-old came through the early rounds to become the oldest participant in the televised stages of the tournament since 1993.

White, who won this event back in 1992, defeated Stephen Maguire and Dominic Dale to reach the last 32, and he has now been provided with a clash against 16th seed Ryan Day.

Should White negotiate his way through his meeting with the Welshman, top seed and defending champion Zhao Xintong could lie in wait in the next round.

Meanwhile, Ronnie O'Sullivan, fresh off his victory at the Champion of Champions tournament last week, will face 2003 winner Matthew Stevens.

Australia's Neil Robertson goes up against Joe Perry, while Mark Selby will be involved in an eye-catching encounter versus Hossein Vafaei.

Fourth seed Judd Trump will square off against either Xiao Guodong or Andres Petrov, who conclude their qualifying match on Thursday evening.
