Team England star Fran Halsall has insisted that she does not feel any added pressure to succeed in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games following her success in Delhi.
The 24-year-old earned a silver medal in Scotland this week as part of the 4x100m freestyle relay team, but tonight she grabbed an individual honour - a gold, by winning the 50m freestyle final.
Halsall won seven medals at the Delhi Games in 2010, but she headed into tonight's contest at Tollcross up against Australian sisters Bronte and Cate Campbell.
"I knew I wasn't going in favourite with Bronte and Cate there, who are amazing competitors," Halsall told Sports Mole. "That final was so fast - there's not been a final that fast in a very long time, so it shows that the Commonwealth is very strong in my events.
"I didn't feel a lot of pressure, I was like, 'right, I know what I want to do, I know what I want to hit in my race and what my race plan is, I've just got to stick to that and if I do, I know I'll hit the wall there or thereabouts. I can't control what those girls do, so I stuck to my race plan and it's paid off tonight, which is nice."
Halsall set a new world and Games record by winning the final in 23.96 seconds.
