Aurelie Muller claimed the gold medal in the women's 10km open water race at the ongoing World Swimming Championships in Kazan earlier today.
The Frenchwomen, who hit the front of the field with two laps remaining of the circuit on the Kazanka River, finished in a time of 1:58:04.3.
Muller's training partner Sharon van Rouwendaal finished in the silver medal position, with Ana Marcela Cunha of Brazil being awarded bronze.
Meanwhile, Great Britain's Keri-Anne Payne, who is a two-time world champion, could only finish back in 15th place.
The top 10 have all qualified for next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
