Great Britain's Paralympic swimmer Sam Hynd will not contest for a medal in the men's S8 100m freestyle final after failing to qualify in his heat.
The British hopeful, who witnessed his younger brother Oliver win gold in the SM8 200m individual medley, had a weak start and failed to pick up time on his rivals at the Aquatics Centre.
Hynd could only claim a place in seventh with a time of 1:05.21, while Denis Tarasov of Russia stormed to the finish in 58.65s.
Meanwhile, Hynd's compatriot Thomas Young has booked a place in the final after finishing fourth in the same heat.
