British swimmer James Hollis just missed out on a place in the S10 100m Butterfly final this morning.
Hollis will be second reserve after finishing fourth in the final heat.
Brazilian Andre Brasil won the heat in 58.72s, with Dutchman Mike van der Zanden in second and Nathan Stein in third.
Robert Welbourn and Graham Edmunds also went in heat three for Great Britain but neither was able to break the one-minute barrier and finished out of contention for a place in the final.
Spaniard David Levecq won the second heat by six hundredths of a second from Achmat Hassiem of South Africa.
In the first heat Dmitry Grigorev set a new European record to qualify in 57.59s.
The final of the 100m butterfly takes place at 5.30pm today.
