Great Britain's Paralympic swimmer Sascha Kindred has soared into the final of the men's SM6 200m individual medley with the quickest qualifying time.
The Brit, who is favourite to clinch the gold medal in the final this evening, was quick out of the blocks at the Aquatics Centre, with Zheng Tao emerging as the only challenger in the first two lengths.
Kindred, who has cerebral palsy, managed to shrug off any competition at the turn into the final 100m and launch into a seven-metre lead to finish the heat in 2:44.29 secs.
Meanwhile, Kindred's compatriot Matthew Whorwood also booked a spot in the final following his third-place finish in the first heat.
