Siobhan-Marie O'Connor has admitted that she struggled to keep up with the winning pace in the 200m individual medley final, but is "happy" with a bronze medal for Great Britain.
The 19-year-old clocked a time of 2:08.45 in the showdown.
Hungary's Katinka Hosszu took gold in a new world record time of 2:06.12, while Japan's Kanako Watanabe grabbed the silver medal.
"I'm really happy to get a medal," O'Connor told BBC Sport. "I'm not particularly happy with my time but it's just one of those things. I knew I had to stick with her as long as I could, but it was just too hard to keep up."
Britain have won four medals in the first two days of the Championships in Russia.
