Great Britain's Lauren Quigley and Elizabeth Simmonds have qualified for the women's 100m backstroke semi-finals at the World Championships in Kazan.
Quigley and Simmonds qualified seventh and 11th respectively after all seven heats took to the pool this morning.
Quigley started strongly in the fifth heat to put herself in second position after the 50m turn, but she faded slightly in the closing stages and touched the wall in fourth place in 1:00.14.
In the sixth heat, Simmonds completed the task in 1:00.38 to touch third, while four-time gold medallist Missy Franklin of the USA struggled initially in the final heat by falling to half a length behind.
The 20-year-old was able to recover to finish in second place with a time of 59.59 seconds.
