Great Britain's Chris Walker-Hebborn has scraped into the final of the 100m backstroke at the World Championships in Kazan, while compatriot Liam Tancock eased into tomorrow's showdown.
Tancock, who is the world-record holder in the 50m event, managed to stay close to the USA's Matt Grevers throughout the race and touched the wall behind the winner in 53.19 seconds.
It was a tight semi-final for Walker-Hebborn and after moving into third at the turn, the Brit dropped down the field and finished sixth in 53.39s.
Despite the finish, the 25-year-old was able to grab the eighth qualifying spot.
