Great Britain's Adam Peaty has set a new world record in the men's 100m breaststroke heat at the Olympic Games in Rio.
The 21-year-old won gold in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke events at last year's World Championships and is one of the frontrunners in South America.
Peaty clocked a time of 57.55s on Saturday evening to create a personal piece of history, breaking his own world record - set in London last year - by 0.37s in the process.
The semi-finals of the 100m breaststroke take place on Saturday night, with the final scheduled to be held on Sunday evening.
