ParalympicsGB swimmer Alice Tai has told Sports Mole that she is "really disappointed" with her performance in the final of the women's S10 100m butterfly at the Paralympic Games this evening.

The 17-year-old looked on course for a second bronze of the Games at the turn, but faded in the second half of the race to eventually finish seventh.

A tearful Tai was visibly upset afterwards, but vowed to work on whatever went wrong in order to ensure that it does not happen again.

"I'm really disappointed with that race. My PB would have got me a medal. I've swam fast enough times previous to this this year but just... yeah, I don't know what happened. I'm gonna go back and talk to the coach and see what we can work on," she said.

"Normally I have more back end after takeoff. I really don't know what happened. It happened with my backstroke as well - last 15m I started fading off. I think maybe the table was wrong, or I just need to look at my programme, see where we can change it to stop that from happening next time.

"I'm happy with the medal [in the 100m backstroke final on Saturday]. But again the time on my backstroke wasn't what I wanted it to be. There's definitely something that's not gone right with training. I just need to look back and see what that was."

Tai will now turn her attention to the 100m freestyle event, which takes place tomorrow.
