Tom Dean has secured an unexpected victory in the men's 200m freestyle race to earn Team GB's fourth gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics.
The 21-year-old had a barnstorming final 50m to finish 0.04s ahead of his teammate and favourite Duncan Scott, who settled for the silver medal in the first GB swimming one-two since 1908.
Dean's win makes it two golds in the pool in as many days after Adam Peaty kickstarted Team GB's Olympics campaign with a comfortable victory in the 100m breaststroke on Monday.
Fernando Scheffer took the bronze medal for Brazil, finishing 0.44s back of Dean and just 0.02s ahead of Italy's David Popovici.
Scott, who already has two team silvers from Rio 2016, now has another shot at gold when he takes on the 200m individual medley starting on Wednesday.
