Welsh swimmer Jazz Carlin has claimed that she is confident of improving her promising season at the Commonwealth Games.
Carlin, who claimed a silver medal in the 200m freestyle and a bronze in the 400m freestyle four years ago in Delhi, believes that she is in the right position to deliver more success in all three events she will be involved in.
"I'm so excited. I've been waiting for it for a long time. It was really difficult after London to get back into the sport," the 23-year-old, who will also race in the 800m freestyle, told reporters. "I'm just going to go out there and do the best I can. I'm really happy with how my season's gone so far. I've put the most work in I ever have in training.
"I'm just hoping that shows when I race and I can come away with a good time. Everyone wants to be on top, that would be the icing on the cake."
Carlin posted the world's fastest 800m freestyle time of the year at the British Championships.
