England's Kelly Sibley has said that she is "absolutely devastated" after she and table tennis doubles partner Joanna Drinkhall missed out on Commonwealth bronze today.
The duo lost their bronze-medal match to Canada's Anqi Luo and Mo Zhang in a 3-2 defeat that cost them a place on the podium.
The English pair sealed their own fate by losing 12-10 in the final set, and Sibley admits that the narrow margin of defeat is a bitter pill to swallow.
"I'm absolutely devastated - it would have been different if they had thrashed us but there were only two points in it at the end," she told reporters. "It's so devastating but fair play to them and congratulations."
Sibley had earlier enjoyed a podium finish after she and mixed doubles partner Danny Reed sealed a bronze medal.
