Team GB table tennis star Liam Pitchford has been eliminated from the Olympics at the round-of-16 stage.
The 23-year-old had received a bye to the last 32 and was comfortably through to the next round when he competed earlier on Sunday, defeating Uzbekistan's Zokhid Kenjaev 4-1.
That set up a meeting with South Korea's Jung Young-sik and Pitchford got off to the best possible start as he took the first game 11-6.
Jung immediately hit back though, restoring parity with an 11-8 victory, before getting his nose in front with a 13-11 win in a hard-fought third game, which included a 22-stroke rally.
Thereafter all the momentum was with Jung, who wrapped up successive 11-5 victories to advance to the last eight.
