British number one Cameron Norrie saw his run at the Miami Open ended by Norway's Casper Ruud in straight sets in Tuesday's fourth-round clash.

The 26-year-old was seemingly dealing with a calf problem throughout the contest and went down 3-6 4-6 to Ruud, who was handed a slight scare before finishing with a flourish.

With Norrie not at peak physical fitness, Ruud earned the early break for 3-1 in the fourth game of the first set, with frustrations boiling over for Norrie as he smashed his racquet on the court.

Ruud found himself serving for the match at 5-2 after another two breaks, but Norrie became the first player to break the Norwegian's serve in the tournament before holding to make things interesting at 5-4.

However, Ruud made no mistake in his next service game, as despite losing two match points, the 23-year-old booked his spot in the quarter-finals with his seventh ace of the day.

Ruud will now face the winner of the last-16 clash between number two seed Alexander Zverev and Australian qualifier Athanasios Kokkinakis, with Norrie aiming to shake off his calf issue before the clay court season begins next month.
