Novak Djokovic has reflected on his "great performance" after brushing aside Marin Cilic with an emphatic 6-1 6-1 win in his first match in the ATP World Tour Finals.
The reigning champion and world number one thumped the US Open winner in just 58 minutes to send a message to his rivals as he bids for a third successive title.
"It's been a great, great match. I haven't played here for 12 months, it's great to be back. It was a great performance," Djokovic told reporters at the O2 Arena in London.
"Marin as a US Open winner has a lot of confidence, but I managed to neutralise his serve and get a lot of ball back in play and that was part of the tactic."
The 27-year-old Serbian faces Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka in his next outing on Wednesday evening.
