Andy Murray is to play an eight-game set against Novak Djokovic in an exhibition match at the ATP World Tour Finals, following Roger Federer's withdrawal.
The world number two pulled out of the final of the competition, telling fans that he was not at peak fitness following his semi-final victory over Stanislas Wawrinka on Saturday night.
Following the revelation, ATP chief executive Chris Kermode announced that Murray agreed to face Djokovic to entertain those in attendance at the O2 Arena, after which the 2013 Wimbledon winner will join John McEnroe to play a doubles match against Tim Henman and Pat Cash.
The event organisers have said that they are looking to contact ticket holders in the next few days to discuss the failure to stage a proper final.
