Sports Mole brings you live text commentary of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Day three at the Australian Open saw success for the reigning men's champion, as Novak Djokovic cruised in to the third round of the tournament.

There was also victory for Britain's Heather Watson, who fought back from a set down to book her place in round three.

The biggest upset of the day was in the women's draw, where ninth seed Sam Stosur was beaten in three sets by Zheng Jie of China.

Venus Williams, Agnieszka Radwanska, Tomas Berdych and David Ferrer were among the other top seeds to make it through.

Read how all of the action unfolded below:

Good morning tennis fans! Welcome to Sports Mole for action from day three in Melbourne. The second round starts today, featuring the likes of Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams and Novak Djokovic.
First up on Laver is women's third seed Agnieszka Radwanska. She takes on Irina-Camelia Begu for a place in the third round. It's the first time Begu has been beyond the first round at the Australian Open, and she has a tough task if she wants to go any further. Radwanska has won two titles already this year, as well as reaching last year's Wimbledon final.
Heather Watson will aim to provide the feel-goods for Britain when she takes on Ksenia Pervak of Kazakhstan later today.
Angelique Kerber is already underway against Lucie Hradecka on Margaret Court as Radwanska and Begu complete their pre-match hit.
Spanish 10th seed Nicolas Almagro has began play on Hisense against compatriot Daniel Gimeno-Traver, but we're ready for Radwanska and Begu now, with the Pole serving first...
Radwanska begins with a double fault on the first point. Begu shows some early signs of nerves though and puts far too much into a couple of forehands.
DEUCE Begu plays a great forehand behind Radwanska, before the Pole tries a drop shot but can only find the net.
Begu runs around Radwanska's second serve to smash an exquisite backhand winner to bring up break point. Once again, she powers long to squander it.
Another double fault brings up Begu's second break point, but Begu again goes long. She can't afford to waste too many of these opportunities.
Brilliant rally! It's Begu dictating these early points, putting a volley away for another break point. This time Radwanska takes the front foot and saves it, rather than Begu wasting.
BREAK! Begu finally gets the break of serve to edge in front!
Another superb rally in which Radwanska prevails. Both players are finding the lines and moving across the court nicely. We could have a real match on our hands here. An opportunity for the Pole at 15-30.
TWO BREAK POINTS RADWANSKA
BREAK! And there it is, the Pole breaks straight back.
Radwanska holds to love. She looks settled now.
Daniel Gimeno-Traver has gone an early break up against Nicolas Almagro over on Hisense. He leads 2-1 on serve.
An opening for Radwanska at 0-30 as Begu serves her first double fault. The Romanian follows up with a thunderous ace, before another superb double-handed backhand draws her level.
What a drop shot from Radwanska! Break point!
The Pole makes her first really sloppy error by firing into the middle of the net. Deuce.
A quite horrendous second serve sees Begu make another double fault, giving Radwanska another opportunity to break. The ball bounced before it dribbled into the net.
BREAK! Radwanska goes ahead 3-1 on serve.
Begu is hitting the ball extremely well, it's just a case of cutting out the silly errors. She's let herself down already in this match and wasted opportunities to break. Radwanska is playing solid tennis and it's paying dividends.
The Pole secures her fourth game in a row to consolidate her break of serve.
SET! Flipkens 6-1 Zakopalova
UPDATE! Almagro has got the break back against Gimeno-Traver. That's 3-3 with the 10th seed on serve.
Begu racks up her 13th unforced error in this set with a miscued forehand. 15-15.
TWO BREAK POINTS RADWANSKA Begu copped out by trying a drop shot during a long exchange. It hardly made the net. Lazy.
BREAK! Well early optimism in this match is well and truly out of the window now, as a double fault sees Radwanska now serving for the first set.
Radwanska covers the ground at frightening pace to reach a Begu drop shot, before clipping the ball down the line giving the Romanian no chance.
Begu is now trying that drop shot more and more, but with more success in this game. Radwanska reaches it again, but can't get enough racquet on it.
Begu gains the initiative in the rally by opening up on a massive forehand, but cannot finish and ploughs a backhand into the net.
BREAK! Well that came out of nowhere! Radwanska serves her third double and Begu gets a break back.
TWO SET POINTS RADWANSKA
Both points go begging as Begu gets to deuce.
Radwanska makes a successful challenge after Begu thinks she's won the game with an ace. She was made to work to close out the game, but showed lovely touch at the net in doing so.
SET! Almagro 6-2 Gimeno-Traver
SET! Kerber 6-3 Hradecka
SET! Radwanska holds to love to clinch the first set.
On comes the trainer for Begu. She has strapping on her shoulder that's come a bit loose. And she gets a bit of treatment while she's at it as well.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Flipkens 6-1 6-0 Zakopalova The Belgian destroys her opponent, dropping just one game as she become the first person through to the third round. Very well done.
Begu still has the trainer on court. She's getting a very deep massage and there's a degree of concern regarding the future of this match.
As I say that, Begu shoos the trainer away and we're ready for the second set. No more strapping, curiously. She serves first.
Quality. Just, quality. Radwanska hits a running cross-court forehand that you just have to sit back and applaud.
BREAK! Radwanska breaks at the first time of asking. Expect this one to be over quite soon.
Comfortable hold for Radwanska, who moves 2-0 in front in this second set.
UPDATE! Almagro is a break up in the second set against Gimeno-Traver. He's a set and 3-0 ahead.
Begu holds to love. Who saw that coming?
NEWS! Rafael Nadal has announced that he will make his long-awaited return from injury at the Brasil Open in Sao Paulo next month. Full sotry here.
Radwanska holds. Neither player is having trouble on serve now, which doe not bode well for Begu, who is a break down.
Radwanska just needs to refocus here. A few errors have just crept into her game in the last few minutes.
Begu works the point well to go 40-15 in front. The Pole could only find the net as she stretched for a forehand.
A failed drop shot gives Begu the game. It was a poor selection.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Kerber 6-3 6-1 Hradecka The German will now face the winner between Madison Keys and Tamira Paszek in the third round.
Sam Querrey and Brian Baker are underway in an all-American battle on court number six.
THREE BREAK POINTS BEGU It's been a rapid game so far! Begu storms into a 0-40 lead!
BREAK! And there it is. Radwanska fires into the net. Game on? We'll see...
Well, well, well. Has Begu arrived into this contest? The shots are flowing now. She's up 30-0 on serve.
And with that, Radwanska makes a fantastic return of serve. Another error from Begu brings up 30-30.
Radwanska has break point, but Begu steps up with a gutsy backhand winner to take it to deuce.
BREAK! Begu goes long (rather horrendously) as Radwanska gets back on track in this second set.
SET! Nishikori 7-6[4] Berlocq
SET! Almagro 6-4 6-1 Gimeno-Traver
This is by no means vintage Radwanska. Her shot selection has left a lot to be desired, but she holds serve to go within a game of victory.
SET! Devvarman 7-6[10[ Janowicz
SET! Savinykh 7-6[6] Cibulkova
Radwanska reaches a drop shot, but again she opts for the wrong shot. She tried to go cross court instead of down the line, and Begu held her nerve to prod into the empty court.
Deuce.
Begu loses a challenge and now faces match point.
She saves it with some courageous play. She left nothing in the tank on those shots, coming into the net to power a volley own the centre.
Another atrocious error gives Radwanska match point again...
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Radwanska 6-3 6-3 Begu
A backhand volley into the corner of the court seals the deal for Radwanska, who could face Heather Watson in the second round.
Nicolas Almagro two sets to the good and a break up in the third against Gimeno-Traver. That one looks all but over.
I beg your pardon, he's now two breaks up in the third. It'll be a welcome rest for Almagro considering his first-round match against Steve Johnson went the five-set distance.
Jurgen Melzer and Roberto Bautista-Agut are underway on court 19, as are Julia Goerges and Romina Oprandi on Margaret Court.
Savinykh has gone an early break up in the second set against Cibulkova. Is another seed heading out of the women's draw following Zakopalova's exit to Flipkens earlier?
The German quickly races into a first-set lead.
We're going to dive right into the match between Devvarman and Janowicz, which has all the makings of a five-setter. We're on serve in the second with Devvarman a set to the good. Heather Watson follows this match.
Janowicz shows why he was good enough to beat Andy Murray in Paris last year with an absolutely crushing forehand. Sickening power.
The Pole holds to edge ahead.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Almagro 6-4 6-1 6-2 Gimeno-Traver
The Spanish 10th seed will now face the winner of this contest between Devvarman and Janowicz in the third round.
WOW! Devvarman covers the ground rapidly to reach a Janowicz drop shot and has the presence of mind to smash home a forehand before the Pole's lob goes over his head. Brilliant play.
Guillaume Rufin and Tomas Berdych are underway on Laver. We'll see how this one goes and keep you updated on the Czech.
TRIPLE BREAK POINT DEVVARMAN
BREAK! The Indian needs just one of those to get his nose in front in the second set.
That was a poor game strewn with sloppy, needless errors from Janowicz. He will be disappointed with that one. Could we be seeing the 24th seed crashing out?
Devvarman smashes three aces on his way to holding serve. He's just one game away from a two-set lead now.
SET! Nishikori 7-6[4] 6-4 Berlocq The Japanese pro is cruising on court number three.
SET! Devvarman breaks once again to go two sets up!
SET! Baker 7-6[2] Querrey
UPDATE! Berdych breaks Rufin in the first game of their match on Laver.
Berdych has not secured sponsorship for this year and is wearing plain white. The Times tennis correspondent Neil Harman (Twitter): "Not seen a plainer white shirt and hat than those being worn by Tomas Berdych in years. It's rather refreshing"
Li Na and Olga Govortsova are underway on Hisense.
Janowics breaks in the first game of the third. I'm still smelling five sets. Watch this space.
Janowicz saves two break points to get to deuce.
The Pole consolidates the break, but had a bit of trouble in doing so.
TRIPLE BREAK POINT JANOWICZ
UPDATE! Brian Baker has taken a tumble during his match with countryman Sam Querrey. It's bad, by all accounts. There's doubt whether the match will continue. It'd be a sickener for the world number 61, who is currently a set up.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Savinykh 7-6[6] 6-4 Cibulkova
SET! Goerges 6-3 Oprandi
BREAK! The Pole is now in full control of the third set.
UPDATE! Brian Baker has been forced to retire against Sam Querrey. How unfortunate.
Janowics holds. This one's going at least four then. Heather Watson waits in the wings...
Mikhail Youzhny and Evgeny Donskoy are underway on court 13.
The Indian finally makes his mark in the third set. Too little too late, you'd imagine.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Nishikori 7-6[4] 6-4 6-1 Berlocq The 16th seed will play the winner of Youzhny and Donskoy.
BBC Sport tennis correspondent Piers Newbery on Twitter: "Just asked Radwanska about potential R3 v Watson and big win over her at SW19: "Great young player. I was really playing well at Wimbledon."
Berdych is serving for the first set on Laver, while Melzer and Bautista Agut are involved in a tie breaker, also in the first.
SET! Berdych 6-2 Rufin
Janowicz saves a couple of break points on his way to holding serve. He's now just one game away from taking the third set.
SET! Melzer [4]6-7 Bautista Agut
The Pole wastes two set points before taking the third to force a fourth set. He will have the advantage of serving first as well.
Stanislas Wawrinka and Tobias Kamke are underway on court number two.
SET! Li 6-2 Govortsova
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Goerges 6-3 6-2 Oprandi
The winner of Jie Zheng and Samantha Stosur will await the German in the third round.
Janowicz holds in his first service game of the fourth set to carry on his momentum from the third. Devvarman is hanging on at the moment.
Janowicz crushes a backhand from Devvarman's second serve. He got everything behind that and I wouldn't be surprised if the Indian's racquet is still rattling in his hand.
TRIPLE BREAK POINT JANOWICZ
BREAK! This signs look ominous for Devvarman now as he loses ground early in the fourth. Janowicz has built up a head of steam now. It was a fantastic point by the Pole, very well constructed. His forehand is a frightening piece of weaponry.
SET! Youzhny 6-3 Donskoy
Madison Keys (USA) and Tamira Paszek (AUT) are underway on court number three.
Janowics holds to love for a 3-0 lead in the fourth. It looks like we will be going the distance.
@AustralianOpen on Twitter: "Sound like the Brian Baker injury was a right knee ACL"
Here's more on that story.
UPDATE! Tomas Berdych is 4-1 up in the second set and in cruise control.
We will be covering Heather Watson's match against Ksenia Pervak, which is due to take place following the conclusion of this five-setter between Devvarman and Janowicz. Did I say five-setter? Well, I nailed my colours to the mast after the first set and I'm sticking with it...
David Ferrer and Tim Smyczek are underway on Margaret Court.
BREAK! Worrying for Devvarman. All the momentum is with Janowicz.
Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) and Stephanie Foretz Gacon (FRA) are underway on court number six.
It's now a case of Devvarman avoiding a bagel. It's been a 'Jekyll & Hyde' performance from Janowicz. His temperament was questionable during the first two sets, and he even had a bit of an on-court tantrum. He looks a different player now, although the Indian has faded dramatically.
Janowicz can't half generate some power on that forehand. Give the lad a chance, won't you Jerzy. Ruthless hitting.
SET! Devvarman fills up on the fresh bagel that's just been handed to him by Janowicz. This is one-way traffic. We're all square and going to a fifth.
SET! Berdych 6-2 6-2 Rufin It's looking like a routine win for the sixth seed on Laver.
SET! Wawrinka 6-2 Kamke
Devvarman is receiving some treatment to his left arm, delaying the start of the deciding set. He's not looking too happy as the trainer gives him a rub.
SET! Bautista Agut 7-6[4] 6-3 Melzer The Austrian 26th seed levels things up on court 19, so that'll be going at least four.
The Pole holds serve to move ahead for the first time since the first set.
Tennis journalist Alexandra Willis on Twitter: "Yikes. Jerzy Janowicz announcing himself in emphatic fashion. He's...scary"
She's right. His power is scary. Immensely scary.
SET! Keys 6-2 Paszek
Devvarman gets his first game on the board since the third set. And the second set before that. Can he pull through for a shock victory?
SET! Ferrer 6-0 Smyczek
Brutal hitting from Janowicz, as he holds to love. Devvarman can't cope with his ferocious serve, which is somewhat of a problem if he plans on making the third round.
Incidentally, Devvarman has never been beyond the second round in any of his eight Grand Slam appearances.
BREAK! The Polish fans chant: "Jerrrzy, Jerrrzy" as their man secures the crucial break in the fifth and decisive set.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Li 6-2 7-5 Govortsova The Russian served to level the match in the second set, but the 2011 French Open champion showed what she's made of by blitzing three games in a row to book her place in the next round.
SET! Makarova 6-3 Foretz Gacon
UPDATE! Kamke has secured a break over Wawrinka in the second set. He trails the Swiss by a set to love
Janowicz is just two games away from setting up a third-round clash with Nicolas Almagro. Boy, what a match that could turn out to be.
UPDATE! Ferrer continues his assault on poor Tim Smyczek. The Spaniard is now 2-0 up in the second set. The question is: can the fifth seed seal the legendary triple bagel?
Devvarman overcomes a spot of bother to hold serve for a second time in this set.
As mentioned, Heather Watson does follow the conclusion of this match. She's looking to make the third round for the second time in a Grand Slam. The Daily Mail tennis correspondent Mike Dickson believes that she has her work cut out (Twitter): "Long match prior to Heather Watson. Hope I'm wrong but think that Pervak may be a tougher opponent than some expect."
Janowicz draws within a game of victory. Devvarman is looking devvarstated... I do apologise, I just couldn't help myself.
UPDATE! Smyczek gets a game on the board against Ferrer. The Spaniard still leads 4-1 in the second.
GAME, SET, AND MATCH! Keys 6-2 6-0 Paszek Wow, that didn't take long. Just 56 minutes, in fact. The American will now play Angelique Kerber in the third round.
THREE BREAK POINTS DEVVARMAN
Stranger things have happened, I suppose. The Pole saves the first.
BREAK! But he can't save the second! Unbelievable, that came out of the blue. We're back on serve!
UPDATE! Bautista Agut served for the third set against Melzer, but could not hold his nerve as the Austrian breaks to get back on serve.
Janowicz is struggling with blisters on his fingers, to paraphrase Ringo Starr. He's taken a medical timeout while the trainer works his magic.
UPDATE! Smyczek has now broken Ferrer on Margaret Court. Surely there's not a comeback on the cards? The industrious Spaniard very rarely takes his eye off the ball.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Berdych 6-2 6-2 6-4 Rufin Routine for the sixth seed. He will face the winner of Bautista Agut and Melzer.
We're all square in this match. No one wants to win it...
Tatsuma Ito (JPN) and Marcos Baghdatis (CYP) are underway on Hisense.
Janowicz holds, but he made hard work of it. All the errors are coming from his racquet, with 12 in this set alone. Devvarman's count is substantially lower, but that's becuase he just isn't going for broke.
UPDATE! Wawrinka has broken back against Kamke to level the second set. The Swiss leads by a set, also.
A chance for Janowicz at 15-30 on Devvarman's serve.
Fantastic play! Janowicz looked in control of the point, powering a series of forehands Devvarman's way. The Pole executed a decent volley at the net, but the Indian was lightening across the ground and clipped a lovely forehand up the line.
Devvarman fires long and we're at deuce. Dangerous waters for the Indian.
MATCH POINT JANOWICZ
Janowicz comes in but crashes his backhand volley into the net. He jumped the gun a bit, but now has another chance to seal the win...
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Devvarman 7-6[10] 6-3 1-6 0-6 5-7 Janowicz
Devvarman's second serve is punished once again, as the Pole makes some space for himself to thunder a forehand past the Indian. He goes on to face Almagro in the third round.
SET! Youzhny 6-3 [4]6-7 Donskoy
SET! Bautista Agut 7-6[4] 6-3 7-6[3] Melzer
Vesna Dolonc (SRB) and MArion Bartoli (FRA) is underway on court number three.
Jie Zheng (CHN) and Sam Stosur (AUS) is now underway on Laver.
So now it's time for Heather Watson. She came back from a set down and stomach cramps to win her first-round match against Alexandra Cadantu. There's plenty to like about the 20-year-old from Guernsey.
SET! Ferrer 6-0 7-5 Smyczek
A better showing from Smyczek in the second set, but he still doesn't have enough to win it. Ferrer on course for a three-setter.
UPDATE! It's a second retirement of the day in the men's draw, as Tobias Kamke withdraws after losing the second set to Stanislas Wawrinka on a tie break.
Funnily enough, the Swiss will now play Sam Querrey, who advanced after Brian Baker was forced to retire, in the third round.
Meanwhile back on court number eight, Watson is facing three break points.
BREAK! Pervak breaks through in the very first game. Terrific first game from the Kazakh, who sealed it with a thumping backhand.
It's 30-0 and Watson is yet to win a point...
A Watson forehand goes long and it's 40-0 now.
Finally, Watson gets a point on the board. It was set up by a lovely forehand, which put Pervak on the back foot. However, the Kazakh still seals the game to go 2-0 in front. A hold very much needed for Watson now.
Watson works the angles to go 30-0 up.
Again, fantastic use of the court from Watson. She moves her opponent from side to side before taking her chance to come into the net and smash a winner. She finishes with an ace.
SET! Ito 6-3 Baghdatis
SET! Youzhny 6-3 [4]6-7 2-6 Donskoy
Watson works her way into the point nicely, but fires a backhand into the net. She gets frustrated with herself.
BREAK POINT WATSON
BREAK! Two over-hit forehands at the end of that game gift Watson the break back! They were the first real errors from her racquet, and came at an unfortunate time for her.
BREAK POINT PERVAK Watson was constructing that point nicely but dropped one in the centre of the court, allowing Pervak to gain the upper hand. Eventually, Watson sprayed wide.
Saved.
Pervak comes into the net and dispatches a backhand volley to set up a second break point.
BREAK! Watson goes too deep with a forehand and Pervak goes back ahead.
Julien Benneteau (FRA) and Edouard Roger-Vasselin (FRA) are underway on court number six.
SET! Bautista Agut 7-6[4] 6-3 7-6[3] 3-6 Melzer The Austrian takes it to a fifth set on court 19.
A long rally ends in Watson going into the tramlines. It wasn't far away. The two players look quite evenly matched in terms of power, maybe Watson with the slight advantage in speed. 15-15.
Deuce.
Pervak dumps the ball into the net to set up another chance for Watson to break.
Pervak's forehand finds the range, as she pummels Watson twice before finding the winner.
Pervak fights off two break points to hold serve.
SET! Ferrer 6-0 7-5 4-6 Smyczek Well, well, well... the American takes a set. Game on, perhaps.
Watson holds rather comfortably this time around. She still trails though...
Maria Joao Koehler (POR) and Jelena JAnkovic (SRB) are now underway on court number two.
SET! Bartoli 7-6 Dolonc
Two double faults in a row from Pervak gives Watson two break points.
BREAK! She only needs one as Pervak can only find the net with a backhand. Watson seems to be playing within herself, though. Not really going for her shots with the conviction needed.
SET! Ito 6-3 3-6 Baghdatis
THREE BREAK POINTS PERVAK
BREAK! Horrendous game from Watson as she's broken to love. That's a gift for Pervak.
SET! Watson just isn't going for her shots. It's cross court or nothing at the moment and it's all too predictable. Pervak isn't exactly playing stunning tennis either, but was gifted the set by Watson.
SET! Jie 6-4 Stosur The Aussie is in trouble on Laver.
19 unforced errors from Watson in that first set, which is obviously far too much. Especially for a player whose game is all about consistency.
SET! Benneteau 4-6 Roger-Vasselin
There's a slight delay in proceedings on court eight as Pervak takes a comfort break. She's back on court now and we're ready for the second set.
BBC Sport tennis correspondent Piers Newbery on Twitter: "First set to Pervak, 6-4. Very scrappy and not much in it but 19 errors and 3 winners won't do it for Watson. Quite seriously hot now."
Sunday Times correspondent Barry Flatman takes a similar view: "Too many unforced errors by Watson. Not dominant enough but most importantly not taking chances. Judy Murray on the case courtside."
Yet more woe for Watson, as she now faces two break points.
One down, one to go.
Pervak's return is too deep. Opportunity wasted for the Kazakh, who had a second serve to attack. Credit to Watson, though, as she switched it up by going to the backhand.
Watson's first double fault brings up another break point for Pervak.
Watson fires long and Pervak makes the breakthrough early in the second set.
The 20-year-old cuts a frustrated figure on court, and is struggling to get any sort of rhythm. Pervak is beating her at her own game with some solid, rather than spectacular, tennis.
The most disappointing thing is that Pervak isn't being made to work for it. Watson will be disappointed about that more than anyone. But it's not over just yet...
Four games in a row now for Pervak.
Watson comes into the net but the volley isn't up to scratch and Pervak makes the running pass.
BREAK POINT PERVAK
Watson holds to get her first game on the board in the second set, but not without trouble.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Ferrer 6-0 7-5 4-6 6-3 Smyczek The Spaniard overcomes a mid-match wobble to advance to the third round. He'll play the winner of Ito and Baghdatis.
SET! Youzhny 6-3 [4]6-7 2-6 6-3 Donskoy It's going to a fifth on court 13.
BREAK! Watson gets the break back to level at 2-2. But can she hold serve now?
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Bautista Agut 7-6[4] 6-3 7-6[3] 3-6 2-6 Melzer The Austrian makes it through to the third round after a five-set epic. He'll play Tomas Berdych next.
Watson seems to have found her range now. She's looking much better on court, but still struggling to hold serve. She's fought off a couple of break points in this game. Deuce.
"Let's go Watson, let's go!" is the chant echoing around court number eight.
She comes through to edge ahead in the second set. Pressure on Pervak now. How will she cope?
Kristyna Pliskova (CZE) and Sorana Cirstea (ROM) are now underway on court 19.
Ana Ivanovic (SRB) and Yung-Jan Chan (TPE) are now underway on Margaret Court.
SET! Ito 6-3 3-6 2-6 Baghdatis
SET! Jie 6-4 1-6 Stosur
SET! Koehler 6-2 Jankovic
Plenty of action around Melbourne Park, as you can see!
Pervak serves out wide to save a break point. Deuce.
Frustration for Watson as she hits the net with a forehand. Pervak holds.
Pervak drags Watson all over the court but lacks the killer instinct to finish the point off. 40-15.
A stunning double-handed cross-court from Pervak punishes Watson for dropping the ball short. Deuce.
Apologies, it's deuce.
A fortuitous net cord gives Watson another opportunity to close out this game.
And a gift from the Kazakh sees her do so.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Youzhny 6-3 [4]6-7 2-6 6-3 3-6 Donskoy The Russian 23rd seed crashes out to his compatriot on court 13.
The Kazakh ends with an ace to hold to love. Pressure back on Watson now.
Just when Watson looked like closing her service game out comfortably, a double fault sees her wobbling slightly. 40-30
Deuce.
And now she's in trouble, as a backhand goes long to bring up break point.
Ace.
Another big first serve sees Watson take control of the point from the off, but she needed three bites of the cherry after coming into the net. Finally, she gets the job done. Pervak will serve to stay in the set.
"Heather Watson's barmy army!" is the chant now.
Watson goes 15-30 ahead and takes a moment to compose herself. The door is ajar...
It was there. But alas, no. Watson fluffs a pass from mid-court and Pervak now has 40-30. That would have set up set point. Bad error.
Pervak goes into the net and we're at deuce.
Tremendous defence from Watson sees an exasperated Pervak once again find the net. Break point.
It's Pervak who prevails to level up the second set having saved a couple of break points.
Aggressive play from Watson. A big forehand found the corner of the court as Pervak scrambled to get across to it.
Watson is beginning to show signs of fatigue now, as a routine backhand is dumped into the net.
But she manages to hold, and without the travails of her previous two service games. Pervak will serve to stay in the set for a second time now.
Watson is dismayed by a call from the line judge. "Watch the line!" she screams.
Brilliant half-volley forehand from the baseline by Watson. She trails 40-15 in this one though.
And to a tie break we go...
Watson 0-1* Pervak
Watson *1-1 Pervak
Watson *2-1 Pervak - brilliant point from Watson! A lovely backhand sees her get the mini-break.
Watson *2-2 Pervak
Watson 3-2* Pervak
Watson 3-3* Pervak
Watson *3-4 Pervak - yet more sloppy play from Watson.
Watson *3-5 Pervak
Watson 3-6* Pervak - three match points for the Kazakh.
Watson 4-6* Pervak - one saved, and after a 29-shot rally.
Watson *5-6 Pervak - she's hanging in there, thanks to some tireless defensive work.
Watson *6-6 Pervak - the 20-year-old shows her fighting ability. She's a real battler, and we're back level in this tie break.
Watson 7-6* Pervak - four points in a row brings up her second set point.
Watson 7-7* Pervak
Watson *8-7 Pervak
SET! Watson 4-6 7-6[7] Pervak We're going into a deciding set!
That was a 97-minute second set. In draining heat.
BREAKING NEWS! Laura Robson's clash with Petra Kvitova is the final match of tomorrow's night session on Rod Laver. That match comes after Roger Federer. What an honour.
Meanwhile, Andy Murray is second on Hisense against Joao Sousa.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Jie 6-4 1-6 7-5 Stosur The Aussie served for the match at 5-2 but bows out of the tournament in the second round.
The Daily Mail tennis correspondent Mike Dickson on Twitter: "Not just GB players who sometimes struggle in their home Grand Slams. Aussie ex US Open champ Stosur loses to Zheng."
Pervak has been in the bathroom for over five minutes now and Watson is inquiring as to her whereabouts. The Kazakh comes back on court, but that was a bit ridiculous. There are time limits for a reason.
BREAK! Watson breaks in the first game!
Followed by as comfortable a hold as she's had the entire match. A love game much welcome at this juncture.
Everything is dropping for Watson now. The balance has well and truly shifted. What was going out earlier is now going in, and the net cord is being friendly to her.
TWO BREAK POINTS WATSON
BREAK! There it is! She's ahead in this set, but there's a slight problem... she's cramping up again.
Watson is motoring now. Pervak has completely gone to pieces.
Watson holds to love and is surely on her way to victory now! Still work to do, mind...
GAME, SET AND MATCH Sharapova 6-0 6-0 Doi The Russian looks in imperious form. She wins through to the third round without dropping a game, let alone a set. Ominous for her rivals.
A lax game from Watson there. She can't fall into the trap of thinking that it's done and dusted. A hold is a must now, if she wants to avoid the nervous shakes.
15-30. Focus now, Heather.
Pervak carves into the net. 40-30. She's out of the woods in this game yet...
A big serve. Great timing. She's just one game from the third round now.
What a ripper! a running forehand down the line from Watson brings the crowd to their feet.
Pervak hangs on to force Watson to serve for the match.
30-0 - she's halfway there.
THREE MATCH POINTS WATSON
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Watson 4-6 7-6[7] 6-2 Pervak
Wow... how Heather Watson has won this match I'll never know. She faced three consecutive match points in the second set, but has turned it right around to set up a meeting with Agnieszka Radwanska. Unbelievable.
Again - how has she done that? What a battler.
So after three hours of thoroughly absorbing tennis let's take a look at the other scores around Melbourne Park.
LATEST: Ivanovic 7-5 1-6 2-0* Chan
LATEST: F. Lopez 2-6 2-6 3-4* Stepanek
Lukas Lacko (SVK) and Janko Tipsarevic (SRB) is now underway on court number two.
LATEST: Benneteau 4-6 7-5 7-6[5] 3-4* Roger-Vasselin
@AustralianOpen on Twitter: "#Sharapova first woman to achieve double-bagel in consecutive matches at a Grand Slam since Wendy Turnbull at the #AusOpen in 1985"
New York Times tennis correspondent Ben Rothenberg offers Maria Sharapova a caveat: "Maria beware--Wendy lost that third match."
Sharapova faces the winner between Venus Williams and Alize Cornet. If Venus wins, then history could very well repeat itself. Sharapova admits that she hates playing against the seven-time Grand Slam champion.
Right folks, thanks for bearing with me these eight hours - they've been a blast. But now I must bid you farewell. Fear not, as I'll be handing you over to Sian Cowper, who you may recall from yesterday morning. Sian...
Thanks Michael. Good morning all. There's already been plenty of action on day three of the Australian Open but there's loads still to come, including Novak Djokovic's second round tie against Ryan Harrison.
GAME< SET AND MATCH! Lopez 2-6 2-6 4-6 Stepanek A comfortable straight sets win for the second oldest player in the men's draw. He'll face the winner of the Djokovic vs. Harrison match in the next round.
Over on the Margaret Court Arena, former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic is closing in on her place in the third, but for now, we're going to focus on the action from court two, where Lukas Lacko is playing Janko Tipsarevic
Tipsarevic, seeded eighth in the men's draw, has already races to a 4-1 lead in the opening set.
The Slovak manager to come back from 15-30 down to take the game, that will help settle his nerves after being shaken by a blistering start from his opponent.
Some stunning forehand strokes help Lacko to break point, but the Serbian keeps his cool to fight back from 15-40 down.
GAME< SET AND MATCH! Ivanovic 7-5 1-6 6-4 Chan Ana Ivanovic manages to overcome a second-set wobble to make the third round of the women's draw.
Action has just resumed on the Rod Laver Arena, with Venus Williams facing Alize Cornet.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Benneteau 4-6 7-5 7-6[5] 7-6[5] Roger-Vasselin Julien Benneteau beats his compatriot to advance to the third round.
Lacko looks more comfortable than at the start of this set, and is playing a greater range of shots. He manages to hold his serve, but has not looked strong against the Tipsarevic serve so far in this match. He'll need to find something here if he's to stay in the set.
SET! Lacko 3-6 Tipsarevic
Tipsarevic hardly broke sweat in the final game of the opening set, sealing it with a superb ace down the centre of the court. Lacko will need to improve his returning if he's to compete.
Just a quick update from the Rod Laver Arena, unseeded Aliza Cornet has broken Venus Williams in her opening service game to take a 2-0 lead in the first set.
An ace secured a hold for the Slovakian in the opening game of the second set. Tipsaveric seemed to be struggling with the light conditions, as sun and shade split the court.
Another easy service game for Tipsarevic, rounded off with an ace.
A superbly timed backhanded dropshot catches Tipsarevic out, and helps Lacko get another game on the board.
We're going to keep an eye on this match but shift our focus on to Venus Williams' match against Alize Cornet.
Williams found herself a break down early in the first set, but has fought back, and is now a break up herself, leading 3-2.
Williams gets lucky when she clips the top of the net, but then follows with a long forehand to hand Cornet a break point, but the American's powerful serve saves her. She's now won four games in a row after a shaky start.
Cornet uses a range of shots to stop Williams' run, slipping a volley past the 25th seed before trapping her with a serve to the body. Impressive stuff from the French player.
Williams is struggling to get her first serve in at the moment, but it doesn't seem to be hampering her too much, she raced to a 40-0 lead before allowing her opponent a point after missing a low forehand, then forcing a mistake from Cornet to take game.
SET! Williams 6-3 Cornet
A disappointing end to the first set for Cornet, she ends her service game with a double fault, having struggled to get her first serve in throughout the game.
It may not have been the start that Venus was looking for, but she looked mighty towards the end of the first set, striking a stunning high volley while mid-air against the Cornet serve in the last game.
It's a simple start to the second set for Williams, as Cornet struggles with her returns against Williams' serve.
A good service game from Cornet, her forehand catches Williams out on a couple of occasions, and her accuracy seems much better than in the previous game.
SET! Malisse 1-6 Verdasco
SET! Kuznetsov 1-6 5-7 Anderson
Cornet is furious with herself after throwing away a 40-0 lead to let Williams hold her serve. The American had all sorts of problems with her serve, handing Cornet three break points following a double fault. However, a string a mistakes from the French player let Williams off. Cornet will be needing a new racquet, after smashing her previous one against the court.
SET! Lacko 3-6 4-6 Tipsarevic. Tipsarevic breaks late in the second set to go 2-0 up against the Slovak. Lacko was much stronger than in the first set, but still couldn't match the eighth seed.
Cornet is still frustrated by the previous game and is letting it get to her. Her lack of focus results in a number of mistakes but she manages to hold on.
BREAK! These two are blowing hot and cold at the moment. Just as Cornet looked like she may be crumbling, a series of double faults by Williams gives her a chance to break and she takes it. This set looks like it will be won by whichever player makes the fewest errors.
BREAK BACK! Despite the break, Cornet looks like she has no confidence, and Williams cashes in, placing the ball all around the court and leveling the set.
Some great shots from both players in that game, but it's Williams who comes out on top as Cornet slices her backhand in to the net.
BREAK! A close game but the pressure gets to Cornet and she misses her forehand, giving Williams the break. She'll now serve for a third-round match against Maria Sharapova.
On court two, Janko Tipsarevic has taken an early break in the third set, after a marathon 12-minute long opening game.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Williams 6-3 6-3 Cornet
Williams' powerful serve is too much for her opponent, and she's through to the third round with a straight sets win.
Some moments of brilliance from the seven-time Grand Slam winner but also so sloppy moments. She'll need to eliminate the mistakes if she's to win her next match against Maria Sharapova.
Up next in the Rod Laver Arena will be the world number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic. He takes on Ryan Harrison from America.
Back on court two, Lacko has broken back against Tipsarevic, having lost out in the opening game of the third set.
Speaking on court after her match, Venus Williams said: "Tennis is about winning when it's not your best day I got a win. I look at the draw, I'm playing against Maria and I better bring my best game against her."
Tipsarevic is starting to make mistakes against Lacko and it's frustrating him. He drops his racquet in frustration. Will the Slovakian be able to capitalise?
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Kuznetsov 1-6 5-7 4-6 Anderson
BREAK! Lacko does indeed cash in on Tipsarevic's frustrations and now leads the third set 4-2. He's got a lot of work to do if he's to get back in this match, but he's going about it the right way.
Djokovic and Harrison have just come on to the court to begin their warm up. They should be getting underway in the Rod Laver Arena in the next 15 minutes.
Lacko is now just one game away from taking the third set against Tipsarevic after winning his service game.
It's a comfortable hold for Tipsarevic but now Lacko is serving for the set.
Meanwhile, in the Margaret Court Arena, Fernando Verdasco is closing in on a two-set lead against Xavier Malisse.
Djokovic and Harrison are just getting their match underway, so we'll be focusing an that, but we'll keep you updated with any major developments from the other two games still in progress.
It's an easy start to the match for the defending champion, who easily holds his serve against the American.
SET! Lacko 3-6 4-6 6-3 Tipsarevic. The Slovakian is right back in his match against the eighth seed after a superb comeback in the third set.
SET! Malisse 1-6 3-6 Verdasco. Malisse earns a couple of break points while Verdasco was serving for the set but he fails to take advantage, and now finds himself two sets down.
BREAK! A poor opening service game from Harrison sees Djokovic earn an easy break. Harrison's serves lacked the pace and accuracy necessary to challenge Djokovic.
The world number one takes a quick 3-0 lead as Harrison struggles with Djokovic's pace. He'll need to hold the next game to have any chance in this first set.
A much better game from Harrison. His serves force a few errors from Djokovic, and the Serb gets one shot caught on the net, before sending a forehand long.
Djokovic misses out in a lengthy rally against the American when he smashed a volley in to the net, but some superbly timed hits from the baseline ensure he takes the game.
BREAK! Djokovic cruises to a 5-1 lead, as Harrison struggles to keep up with reigning champion. Djokovic still looks like he's just warming up.
SET! Djokovic 6-1 Harrison
It's far too easy for Djokovic as he easily takes the first set in just 20 minutes against Harrison. Except for a poor first service game, the American did little wrong in the opening set, Djokovic just did everything better.
Heather Watson became the first Brit in to the third round earlier today with a win over Ksenia Pervak.

She's been speaking to BBC 5 Live: "I do make it hard for myself but a win's a win, no matter how you do it.

"It was a very tough one today. I wasn't sure whether I was going to get through it but I did, I kept fighting, the crowd was amazing and kept pushing me on from start to finish, and I've put myself in a position to play another match here."

BREAK! Some good play by Harrison, but a superb cross-court volley gives the Serbian break point, before the American sends a forehand shot wide.
Elsewhere, Lacko and Tipsarevic may be heading towards a fifth set, as the Slovakian is currently a break up in the fourth set, while Verdasco looks to be cruising to straight sets victory over Malisse.
It just looks so easy for Djokovic. He's giving Harrison a good work out, placing shots all around the court, and takes the game without problem.
Some sensational serving from the American. Djokovic brings up a break point, but Harrison saves it with an ace to bring up deuce. Another ace gives him advantage before the defending champion fires the ball long to give Harrison the game.
Another easy game for Djokovic. Harrison takes a tumble while chasing a wide ball before the Serb smashes an ace past the American.
BREAK! A pair of brilliant volleys from Djokovic brings up another break point. He seals the game with a fast forehand, with too much pace for Harrison to get the return in.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Malisse 1-6 3-6 2-6 Verdasco The 22nd seed is through to the third round, where he'll face Kevin Anderson of South Africa.
It's exhibition stuff from the world number one. He catches Harrison out with a drop shot before using his immense forehand to great effect to easily win the game.
SET! Lacko 3-6 4-6 6-3 6-3 Tipsarevic. They're heading in to a deciding set in the Margaret Court Arena.
Harrison catches Djokovic out a couple of times with his serve to hold his serve for the second time in this set. Djokovic will now serve for a two-set advantage.
SET! Djokovic 6-1 6-2 Harrison
A fantastic cross-court backhand beats Harrison to give Djokovic the set. The American was able to compete more in the second set than the first, but was still well beaten by the world number one, who still has plenty more in reserve should Harrison find more.
BREAK! Djokovic is just a different class to Harrison. He brings up the break point by sending his forehand down the sideline, landing it right in the corner, before securing the game with a stunning volley. A great start to the third set by Djokovic.
Harrison has been struggling to return Djokovic's serve well in this match, but after watching the Serb's seventh ace pass him he made a fantastic return to keep himself in game, before losing out as Djokovic sent him out wide.
Harrison finds some big serves to take the game, including one at 138mph.
Djokovic races to a 40-0 lead before putting the ball in the net. However, a big serve sees Harrison over-hit the return to give Djokovic the game.
On court two, the fifth set between Lukas Lacko and Janko Tipsarevic is still on serve at 2-2.
Harrison takes another game to stay in touch in the third set. A fast-paced rally saw Djokovic send a shot long to give Harrison a lead in the game, which his capitalised on.
It's another stunning service game from Djokovic. He's sending his opponent all around the court to make returns. It certainly feels like we're coming towards the end of this match.
In the other match still being played, Tipsarevic has taken a break against the Lacko serve in the fifth set.
Harrison takes a 40-15 lead, but mistakes by the American allow Djokovic to take the game to deuce. Both men had chances to take the game before Djokovic hits the net during a Harrison advantage to give the American the game after 10 minutes.
On court two, Lacko has just saved a match point against Tipsarevic, but is now facing another.
Lacko comes through two match points to force Tipsarevic to try to serve out the match. The Serb is leading 5-3 in the fifth set.
A much quicker game this time, Djokovic easily taking his service game. He's now just one game away from the third round.
Harrison sends the ball wide, and Djokovic has a match point
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Djokovic 6-1 6-2 6-3 Harrison
Harrison gets the game back to deuce, but Djokovic is too strong, and wins advantage before slotting the ball past him in a rally to sail in to the third round.
The only match still underway if the one on court two between Lukas Lacko and Janko Tipsarevic. Tipsarevic has had two match points during the fifth set, but Lacko has fought back with a break to level the scores. We'll be following that to its conclusion.
Tipsarevic is within one game again after comfortably holding his serve. There's little between the two players at the moment.
Djokovic has been talking on court following his win over Ryan Harrison.

He told the reporter there: "I managed to make very important breaks at the start of the match and go on from there. I don't think he played at his best, probably because of the occasion, but I wish him the best. He has a good future."

A sensational forehand gives Tipsarevic his third match point.
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Lacko 3-6 4-6 6-3 6-4 5-7 Tipsarevic
It was a remarkable comeback from two sets down by the Slovakian to take Tipsarevic to a fifth set, but the Serb just edged it in the end.
That's all of today's matches finished. A few surprises today, including defeat for home favourite and ninth seed Sam Stosur in the women's draw.
