Players planning Australian Open boycott?

Reports claim that some of the world's best tennis players are considering boycotting the Australian Open over a dispute regarding prize money.

The world's best tennis players are reportedly considering not competing at next year's Australian Open following disagreements over prize money.

Recent discussions saw £20.4m released in terms of prize money for the ongoing US Open in New York.

However, that only amasses to around 20% of the tournament's revenue - something that the players feel is extremely unfair.

As a result, talks are planned over the coming weeks, where stars such as Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are believed to be preparing to argue for more money being released for themselves and their fellow competitors.

Should the two parties fail to reach an agreement, speculation has claimed that the tournament may be cancelled or even moved to Dubai.
