Ana Ivanovic has recorded a clinical straight-sets victory over Melinda Czink to progress in the final match on day one of the Australian Open.
The former French Open champion made the breakthrough in the fourth game of the first set, claiming an early break despite some resolute baseline defending from the Hungarian.
Ivanovic followed up to claim four successive games and take the first set by six games to two.
Czink played well in patches but frustrated the late crowd in the Rod Laver Arena with a series of unforced errors, which Ivanovic exploited with ruthless efficiency.
The 13th seed used an effective first serve to deny Czink a way back into the match and ensure safe passage to the second round in straight sets.
