Andy Murray has reached the third round of the 2012 Australian Open after beating Edouard Roger-Vasselin in straight sets.
The Scot jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after breaking the Frenchman twice. His 28-year-old opponent then managed to hold his third service game to force Murray to serve for the set.
Roger-Vasselin again held serve to start the second set, as did the world number four. However, he was then able to break his opponent and jump out to a two-game lead, which he kept hold of to take the second set 6-4.
The Frenchman looked his most impressive in set three, holding serve until 3-3, at which point the Scot was able to break the world number 101 and win 6-4 once again.
