Top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan have been knocked out of the men's doubles at the Australian Open after losing to Dominic Inglot and Florin Mergea.
The legendary American pairing, who were looking for a seventh crown in Melbourne, succumbed by a 7-6 6-3 scoreline to the British and Romanian duo.
Both teams shared a break apiece during a tight opening set before the 14th seeds got the better of their opponents in a tie-break to move closer to the quarter-finals.
The second set was also closely contested, but Inglot and Mergea, who are ranked 45th and 24th respectively in the world rankings, secured the solitary break to record a memorable triumph.
However, Inglot's British compatriot Jamie Murray and partner John Peers were eliminated after letting slip a one-set lead before falling to defeat at the hands of fourth seeds Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo.
