Great Britain have named James Ward as their second singles player alongside Andy Murray for this week's Davis Cup clash with the USA.
The 26-year-old was selected by captain Leon Smith for the World Group first-round match over Kyle Edmund, who did not make the squad.
World number six Murray will feature in singles matches on Friday and Sunday, but could miss out on Saturday's doubles game since he only recently returned to action following back surgery.
Dominic Inglot could partner Colin Fleming if Murray bows out of the doubles.
Great Britain will face a USA team comprised of Donald Young, Sam Querrey, and brothers Bob and Mike Bryan.
